THROUGH A QUEER LENS: PORTRAITS OF LGBTQ JEWS
February - April 2016
Jewish Museum London
This was the first comprehensive series of photographic portraits of Jewish LGBTQ people in the UK, featuring well-known faces including Yotam Ottolenghi and Rabbi Lionel Blue as well as leading artists, activists and entrepreneurs. I worked with fine art photographer Ajamu, and Jewish trans activist and campaigner Shaan Knan to develop this exhibition which generated significant exposure for the Jewish Museum. It met with hugely positive visitor feedback and provided a positive platform for the LBGTQ community in a ‘Jewish’ setting, opening the museum to new audiences. Following the exhibition’s success, it was integrated into the museum’s core exhibition.
