JEWS, MONEY, MYTH

March - October 2019
Jewish Museum London

A major exhibition exploring the complex and sometimes vexed role money has played in Jewish life throughout history. The exhibition traced the evolution of deeply entrenched stereotypes and tropes connecting Jews to wealth and power. It brought together historic material dating back to the 1st century BC, featured high-profile loans and newly commissioned artworks included a video installation by Jeremy Deller.

Developed in collaboration with the Pears Institute for the study of Antisemitism, Birkbeck, University of London.

Winner of the Museums Association’s ‘Museums Change Lives’ award in 2019.
