DESIGNS ON BRITAIN

October 2017 - April 2018
Jewish Museum London

Many of the most important figures in British design - producing the most quintessentially British material - were Jewish immigrants to the UK. Many found refuge here from Nazi Europe. Designs on Britain illustrated their impact on British design and contextualised this within their personal life stories and broader 20th century history.

The exhibition brought together material from public and private collections across the UK and featured the work of 18 designers including Tom Karen (Marble Run, Chopper), Sir Misha Black (London Underground, British Rail), and Henrion (National Theatre, KLM) .
